McDade Watermelon Festival

Fun for everyone - Car Show, Parade, Live Music by X-Factory & Abigail Taylor, Home cooked BBQ, Bingo, Horseshoe & washer tournament, melon eating & seed spitting contests & more. Prize melon auction with free melon feast. Most activities are at the Festival Grounds 143 Bastrop Street. Parade & watermelon weigh in located by McDade Historical Museum on Loop 223. We are a non-profit- ALL proceeds go back into the community via Scholarship opportunities & grants for local youth organizations, local school teachers & food bank.
