Step into the boots of one of Texas’s most iconic law enforcement agencies with our newest exhibit, The Texas Rangers: A Legacy of Law and Legend. This immersive timeline explores the fascinating evolution of the Texas Rangers—from their early frontier days to modern times—highlighting the pivotal moments, key figures, and cultural impact that shaped their storied legacy. The exhibit features rare and personal artifacts on loan from Maurice Cook, former Chief of the Texas Rangers and current Bastrop County Sheriff. Visitors will get a unique look at his private collection, which includes historic records, memorabilia, and even badges from the hit television series Walker, Texas Ranger, where Cook served as a consultant. Join us for the Opening Reception on May 2, which will include a special book signing with Maurice Cook for his memoir, Unlikely Texas Ranger: You Be the Judge. Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the event, and guests will have the opportunity to meet the author and have their books signed. Museum members are invited to an exclusive reception beginning at 5 PM, with light refreshments and early access to the exhibit. The general public is welcome starting at 6 PM. Don’t miss this chance to experience a piece of Texas history and meet one of the Rangers who lived it.
