DESCRIPTION:The Texas Department of Transportation Austin District is proposing roadway improvements to SH 71 from CR 206 to SH 21 in Bastrop County. The proposed improvements include:\n\n\n\n  Constructing new frontage roads\n\n  Adding an overpass on SH 71 at the FM 1209 intersection\n\n  Adding shared-use paths on both side of SH 71 and FM 1209\n\n  Improvements at FM 1209\n\n  Adding turnarounds to the intersection of SH 71 and FM 1209\n\n\n\nThe length of the proposed project is approximately 2.5 miles\, would require approximately 32.5 acres of additional right of way\, and is anticipated to displace seven residentioal properties and 25 businesses. Information regarding the TxDOT Relocation Assistance Program\, benefits and services for those displaced\, and information about the tentative schedule for right-of-way acquisition can be obtained at the hearing or from the district and/or area office.
