SUMMARY:Music in the Park
DESCRIPTION:Join on us at Fisherman's Park Large Pavilion on February 27th from 6-8 PM for Music in the Park! Music by Nichole Wagner starting at 6PM and Jenny Reynolds at 7PM. \n\n\n\nAbout the Artists: \nNichole Wagner's music is a soulful blend of Americana and folk with a modern twist. Her haunting vocals and evocative lyrics draw comparisons to artists like Jenny Lewis\, Stevie Nicks\, and Neko Case. Dubbed "one of Austin's most promising young singer-songwriters" by Peter Blackstock\, whether she is exploring the depths of heartbreak or celebrating the joys of life\, Wagner's music feels authentic and honest\, with a raw emotional power that resonates with listeners. In addition to her own music\, Wagner also hosts a yearly tribute to the late Nanci Griffith\, who passed away in August of 2021. The tribute is a celebration of Griffith's life and legacy and features performances from a variety of artists who were influenced by Griffith's music. This event is a testament to the impact that Griffith had on the music community\, and Wagner's dedication to keeping her legacy alive.\n\n \n\nJenny Reynolds - Since moving to Austin in 2003\, 1999 Boston Music Award Nominee Jenny Reynolds has played the Old Settlers Music Festival and the Kerrville Folk Festival\, and worked with Grammy Nominee Ruthie Foster\, and Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame inductee Ian McLagan. She was an Official Showcase Artist at SXSW 2008 and 2018\, and was named "Best New Local Act" in the Austin Chronicle's 2005 Critics Poll.\n\nProduced by Mark Hallman and Andr Moran\, Reynolds's current recording "Any Kind of Angel" was released in 2020\, and features Jaimee Harris\, BettySoo\, Warren Hood\, Oliver Steck\, and Scrappy Jud Newcomb. She's currently working on a new record\, again with Mark and Andr .\n\n \nGrab your lawn chair\, bring a picnic\, and some pals\, and we'll see you out there!
