DESCRIPTION:The Bastrop Chamber of Commerce has found that there has been no organized assistance or information available to our Business community after a disaster. Almost 40% of small businesses never reopen following one according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency. \n\n\n\nFor this reason\, we want to have a training class for individuals who want to volunteer in the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) and answer questions from Businesses who call in. This 4-hour training will be conducted by Mike Fisher\, our Emergency Management Coordinator and his staff so that you have the tools you need to answer inquires from Businesses after a disaster. This is a vital service so that we can lessen the economic impact following a disaster.
