DESCRIPTION:The 19th Annual Bastrop Empty Bowl Event\n\nSave the Date: February 17\, 2024\n\n          \n\nThe Bastrop County Emergency Food Pantry will be holding its 19th Annual Bastrop Empty Bowl Event on February 17\, 2024\, at the Bastrop Convention Center from 11:00 am   1:30 pm. Tickets are $25 for adults and children over 12 years old and come with a hand-painted bowl from talented BISD students and members of our community. Children under 12 are free but they do not receive a hand-painted bowl. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time online (https://www.bastropfoodpantry.org/events) or purchased the day of the event. All of the proceeds benefit the Individuals and families that seek assistance from the Bastrop County Emergency Food Pantry\, which is the only one that serves the entire County and is open five days a week. \n\n \n\nOver the last few years\, our community has been hit hard by the pandemic\, historic storms\, tornados\, and the rising cost of food and fuel.  All of these challenges have many in our County in crisis\, wondering where their next meal will come from. In 2023\, the Food Pantry served 32% more of its neighbors compared to 2022 and 89% more than in 2020. \n\n \n\nThey need your support. \n\n \n\nHelp your neighbors in their time of need and enjoy some delicious soup from some of Bastrop's finest chefs. There will be a silent auction that will showcase some of Bastrop's most talented artists as well we some fun baskets from local businesses. Together we can bring an end to hunger in our community!
