Post Office Renaming Ceremony

We invite you to join the family of Seargent Major Billy D. Waugh and US Congressman Michael T. McCaul as we officially rename the Bastrop Post Office in honor of Billy D. Waugh — a decorated war hero and lifelong patriot who was born in Bastrop, TX. Thank you to Congressman Michael T. McCaul & Chief of Staff Andrew L. Ross, for their efforts in making this happen.

Billy D. Waugh served our country with extraordinary courage:
•Green Beret and Army Special Forces legend
•CIA operative for decades after active duty
•Recipient of 8 Purple Hearts, 4 Bronze Stars, the Silver Star, and the CIA’s Intelligence Star
•Played key roles in missions tracking high-value targets like Carlos the Jackal and Osama bin Laden

His life was one of bravery, resilience, and service—and now, his name will stand as a permanent tribute in the heart of the town where it all began.
